There was a woman who was broken and convinced she would never love again, much less marry, and a man who never thought he would find someone who loved him for exactly who he was.

One random Tuesday, she went online thinking maybe she would find a date for that weekend. Ironically enough, the man was also online that night, as he had been stood up and was having dinner alone. In that moment, the two had no idea that their first encounter would not just be another date, but instead, that they had found a date for life.

They met in Carrollton that same week, on a Thursday, and shared a snack, a drink, and quickly got lost in conversation. Before parting for the evening, they took a few extra minutes to walk around the gazebo in downtown Carrollton. That’s where they shared their first kiss.

As the days passed, the two continued to spend time together as their schedules and hearts allowed, giving each other the space to simply be. No expectations of perfection, just authentically and unapologetically themselves, scars and all.

She was rough around the edges and guarded, not trusting of anyone. Somehow, he broke down those walls, brick by brick, seeing her for who she truly was.

And now, here they are, better together and better in life simply because they trusted God and the life he was creating just for them.

In doing so, they allowed themselves to take a huge leap of faith. They chose to surrender to God’s plan, grounded in love and support.

You see, God never meant for these two to live life alone. And finally, after all these years, they found everlasting love, trust, and respect in each other.

“That plan was for us to grow old together, to love each other even when it is hard. We will continue to choose one another each and every day, embracing God’s plan and growing in love and light together.”
